Installation, Testing, and Commissioning

The overall goal of installation, testing, and commissioning is to confirm that the facility meets the design intent and requirements. In other words, the facility is functioning on its intent working condition and function.

First, the installation or assembly of all the equipment and device as per design. Secondly, the testing, where it evaluates the system or its components. It aims to find whether it satisfies the design requirements or not. Finally, the commissioning is the systematic process where the equipment, system, or facility is tested to verify that it functions in accordance with the design.

Testing is the act of conducting a test or trial. Whereas, assuring and proving that all the system and components are functioning to the operational requirement of the facility is during the commissioning stage.

The need to increase electrical system reliability gives the realization of the importance of commissioning. There are great numbers of the benefit of commissioning in the power electrical system. Some benefits are the confidence that the electrical system will work and function correctly. It also reduces the downtime due to power outages caused by a failure within the electrical system. It ensures that the electrical system meets the operational needs of the facility. However, in order to maximize the commissioning success, it must begin with a successful design phase of the project.
